Message from Prof. Amitabha Ghosh, Director, IIT Kharagpur

   It is with a great sense of pride, appreciation and gratitude 
   that I acknowledge the wonderful and outstanding contribution 
   that our former students have made through the IIT Foundation, 
   USA. In connecting every student room in the halls of residence 
   to a modern high-speed broadband fibre optic computer network 
   and providing universal high bandwidth Internet access, they 
   have created a truly powerful infrastructure at IIT Kharagpur 
   in its Golden Jubilee Year. In addition, they are providing 
   an individual PC to every student at IIT Kharagpur at a highly 
   subsidized price. I am confident that the students and the 
   faculty will benefit immensely from this $6 million project and 
   that the banner of the Institute will continue to fly high.
