The recent IIT50 events in Silicon Valley and in Bangalore have built up tremendous momentum and name recognition for the IITs.

We need you to help achieve the goal of maintaining the "IIT brand" in general and help maintain IIT KGP as one of the foremost educational institutions in India as well as in the whole world. An important part of this goal is to create a world class network of IIT KGP alumni. And only you can help achieve that.

So, we are embarking on a NEW initiative: REGISTRATION DRIVE!

The alumni directory maintained on the web has been around for a while now (as a web-site since 1995, and as a mailing list since 1988). As of March 2003, there are about 6300 entries in the directory. This directory is by far the most comprehensive of all directories of IIT KGP Alumni.

However, as you may know, there are over 30,000 alumni of IIT KGP living around the world this time. Obviously, quite a few of them have not registered in the directory yet, perhaps because they are not aware of it.

This is where you can help.
If you are already a registered in the alumni directory, please take a few moments of your time to invite your IIT KGP friends who are not yet registered.

If you are not registered in the directory, please take a few moments to do so now by visiting our registration page. Registration is easy and painless.

THE CONTEST

In the spirit of friendly contest and banter, we are going to have a contest for maximum new registration on IIT Foundation website. The games begin March 1st and end on April 15th. There will be three "winners" of this contest: a winning hall, a winning batch, and a winning department. The winner will be based on percentage increase between the two dates. So, go for it, Kgpites! The awards will be announced soon. The winning "teams" get bragging rights for one year. Let's see whose tempo wins out!
