Subject: About rasing fund to buid an airport in IIT Kharagpur

As we all are aware that due to lack of airport near our campus or in the city kgpians(IIT) face many problems. First one which is very critical about the comapanies coming for the recruitment. Companies have to come to Kolkata first and then have to pick car or whatever. So many companies avoid coming in our campus. Second thing for many events(conferences, SF, Technical fests) national and internation happening in KGP participants and guest get problem in coming to IIT. I have seen this problem happened in one internation conference in my department. So it becomes tough to call persons from outside India there.

The main reason to put this message is to make you all think for the problem seriously. My idea is to make some fund for this and get donations from you all. I hope in some year IIT kgp will get an airport by our collective attemp.

There is no airport worth the name at Kanpur or Roorkee either. But companies still go there from Delhi or Lucknow. Calcutta is not very far from Kharagpur. The problem is not about the lack More ... By: Shyam Sundar Mishra
