Subject: A medical college in IIT KGP

If what I have heard is correct, the Diro is planning to set up a department for medicine (Medical College??) at Kharagpur.
I am worried about KGP and the campus.

A medical college would bring its own set of hazards.
1) Infectious diseases and lots of filth.
2) Undesirable elements entering and leaving the campus at will.
3) Tragic moments....common in any hospital / medical college of repute...that would take the fun out of the campus life.
4) Dilution of the engineering brand.
Why do we need a medical college at IIT Kharagpur? Can't we set up a new campus somewhere else..if at all required.
Please stop this 'maha-madness'.
