The upliftment of the weaker people needs a solid political will. In India, that political will is non-existent. More than 60 years after 'freedom', a large number of people remain poor and uneducated. This shows that the 'elected' representatives have failed and that those unscrupulous 'rulers' have tried their best to keep this nation backward. Time and again, these rulers have tried to cover up their failures with moves like reservation of jobs and seats in the top institutions, caste based scholarships etc.

Educated persons should see through the evil intentions of these enemies of the nation.
True upliftment comes through good education and upbringing. This has to be ensured right from the school level and also at the family level. The quality of the government schools must be improved. Then, at the 12th grade, the competition must be free and fair to all and there must not be any reservation. Caste can be no replacement for merit.

Any serious / honest minister will try to improve the lot of the government schools in order to lift the poorer people rather than pull down the standard of the premier institutes like IITs / IIMs.
